Stuck
Gone to shift some furniture for my daughter. Van stuck in the snow halfway up the estate where she lives. So carried a sofa back getting heavier as the snow accumulated. But no way can I carry her cabinet.
So now stuck overnight in Leeds. Will this make me behave in funny ways?

Re: Stuck
My daughter lives half way up a hill, when I got there the weather was fine. But I had some furniture to shift. So front wheel drive with a heck of a weight in the back. For some reason the locals refuse to move the snow in front of their houses. this morning I had to borrow a shovel from a house near where I had to abandon my van to clear about 100 yards, 2 hours of digging and not one person helped the mad idiot from Preston clear the road.
So van up to her house, unloaded and back home. M62 not bad, got off at chorley and there are abandoned cars all over the A6. 2 hours digging and I am finally in the house with the van outside. All my neighbours up the hill have cleared in front of their houses, it is the lazy gits further down that haven't done a stitch. The stupid thing was when I packed to go over the M62 yesterday. I shoved a flask of tea and a sleeping bag in the van just in case I got stuck. I thought no need for a shovel. Boy was I wrong. there is one in there now. Worse part coming back over the M62 today was when the people carrier in front of me emergency braked in the middle lane of the M62 near Saddleworth. As I overtook I could see why. The slab of snow had melted enough to fall of the roof. Straight down the windscreen about 8 inch thick.

Re: Stuck
Ordered a chinky to be delivered. They refused. Bit of snow and they say no. So starving and just had a growler out the fridge as I got in.

Re: Stuck
Ooo Saddleworth, bet it was grim up there!
Think its folk in general being lazy. The end house has a drive big enough for four to six cars. The lazy git would prefer not to dig his drive, but rather wind his neighbours up. Not only does he park his mid life crisis car outside the next house and leave it for days, but when he eventually moves it, he makes sure he returns and parks over my neighbours spot/drive. It doesn't end there. His son lives right down on the main road, and he decides he'd rather park the great big van he drives outside his dads. So, I watch this when it began snowing bad the other night. Son gets out of big van, taking up massive space. Dad comes, parks outside neighbours. Neighbourp comes, parks outside our house. Peg comes home......nowhere to bloody park! All because a pair of lazy oafs can't be bothered to clear a massive driveway of snow. Parking is a premium round here. I wish the fella over the road would slide off his drive with his fkatback one day, and accidently squash the mid life ignorant crisis car. We get snowed in here, when everywhere else is clear. Apart from our part of the street. Flatback man has a grit bin hidden under his window and our bit us always gritted. He's nice like that.
