Jobhunt help! (Marketing)
My girlfriend has been trying to get into the Marketing (and Sales) sector for a while but with no luck. Is there anybody who may be able to help, or know of anybody who they could put her in contact with? Just getting some experience or an internship would be incredible. She's been applying to jobs daily since June, with no luck, and is beginning to give up hope. She has an irrelevant degree from a great Uni and is currently doing a course in Marketing with the CIM.
Thanks! |

We're looking for a Debentures Administrator at my work place. You don't have to love cricket to do the job. It's an entry level position within our Club Facilities department but there are often opportunities to move onwards and upwards from this role into the Marketing or Meetings and Events departments.

If she hasn't been successful in 5 months then IMO she must not be doing something right. The CV is the 1st opportunity an employer gets to 'look' at you. If nothing stands out or doesn't read as interesting then why is she different from anyone else? Especially in marketing where you need to be innovative, think outside the box and be able to grab someone's attention. The CV is about her, the thing of which she knows everything about in the world. Use it to be quirky, different and make her CV stand out from the crowd. Last edited by DJ123; 19-11-13 at 08:06 PM. |

Just be aware though if you actually use the phrase think outside the box on your cv it will probably get binned!

Re: Jobhunt help! (Marketing)
Previous experience is what it is. With something like marketing (my guess) is that a lot of it is how you are perceived and how you put yourself across. Being innovative & approaching something in a different way is probably something they are looking for. If you could somehow put this into the CV to make it different & better, it may work in her favour.
