Modern cars with drl's. Lost count of how many people in cars I've seen recently driving at night, oblivious to the fact they have no rear lights on.

This is a big problem, used to see this a lot when I was out early mornings to get to work as well - still its easy to think they would not have had ANY lights on if not for front DRL's being automatic, but DRL's should make rear lights come on as well - bit of a no-brainer really.

Problem is dashboard lights come on with the drl's so the driver then thinks they have got lights on.

It's not hard, I've had volvos for nearly 20 years, they've had drl's forever and a day, but the rear lights come on too.

My car has drl's, automatic headlights and a very helpful dash light that tells me when the full lights are on. It is therefore easy to see if on, say, foggy days when it's still quite bright if the lights are on and override the auto feature if needed. Shame some people don't read their manual or use common sense.

No problem for me!
The car i drive to work has drls and automatic headlights that cut all lights on when it is dark or lights can be turned on or completely off manually.
It does seem somewhat odd to never have to turn them on.

Wife picked up a large screw in the nearly new tyre on her MR2. Had to drive to Felixstowe, take the wheel off and get it repaired.

The idiot who thought that putting a mild steel non captive nut on the bottom of the exhaust on the SV. The poxy nut just spins whilst the supposed nut holder stops you getting a spanner on the nut. Fixed now with a bit of blind MIG welding. That and the header studs made of fast rusting cheese.
