Finished the bunk in the trailer.

Seems to have come out well, tucks up nicely with still room for handlebars!

And spacious for a good nights sleep, hopefully.

Hoping to get the awning out if the rain ever stops.

Oh and I have a window to install too

Its a pirelli wet / rain tyre (not road legal). Used for hillclimb events. Why is it so lovely!?!

Love the full tread pattern

I like to ride small roads that me M8s have called,"Goat Tracks".They are not they are just single country lanes but I might be looking for a full tread rear for my SV.

I finally had a dry day to try out the awning on the trailer, I managed to set it up by myself and is a very neat package all round. Well worth the investment.
I shall get some weights for the legs but if on grass there are pegs and tie-downs too. If its very windy I probably wont be tempted to use it, but it should keep us a little drier most of the time.

And I managed to finally test that it'll take two bikes! Loads o room!

You can get brackets which mount to the trailer to hold the legs. My father-in-law had these on his campervan and it seemed much for stable then pegging them in the grass.

That is a very good point and you've reminded me that it did actually come with some. So I shall go ahead and try them out.

Thanks for the link tho, I might need some for both sides as I have the ability to mount the awning on both sides.

Hey, Great thread. probably the best I've seen on a bike forum. I have just bought a insurance write off SV650 with minor panel damage only that I intend to put on the track, so this thread is really interesting for me. I'm also 6ft 3ins too so am interested how you have set the bike up for a "big guy".

I have a few questions you may be able to help me out with:

What fork springs have you used and where did you buy them?
Did you swap out the stock shock for one off another bike or change anything there?
My bike came with a scorpion exhaust with no baffle. Do you reckon it would pass the noise test without one. I can buy one online but would I need to remap the engine settings?

Looking forward to what you do this year. I'm booked into Brands Hatch in April so going to focus on getting the chassis and suspension sorted (and do a basic service etc) before giving it it's first run and then progress onto track fairings etc.

Hope you can give me a few pointers

Rob

Hey Rob, thanks for the kind words!

In answer to your questions:
I used ktech 9.0 linear springs from Brook suspension online.
Send him an email including your weight and he will advise better.
I used Debrix emulators but YSS are the readily available version these days.

I got a ZX10 2006/07 shock and so far has been just right for sag etc.
Cant really afford a fancy one yet!

My scorpion is pretty quiet with no baffle, so should be fine unless yours is a stubby one. My bike with an aftermarket filter and the previous Beowolf can ran with a stock ECU map and was bang on power. I was probably lucky but what gains you'd get from a remap I dont know. Of course minitwins should be 72bhp anyway so no point me chasing more.

Have fun with the build and lets see your thread
