My wife has been out on a 20 mile training run today, so I've had hours to myself. I've scrubbed the garage floor, bought a floor mat for it, painted (badly) some damage on my bike and been out for a lovely little run round the back roads.

Thoroughly productive and enjoyable ... and she still isn't finished.

The wildlife insist on coming into the house. Today a jackdaw fell down the chimney and got trapped behind the gas fire.
I got him out after removing the fire and got a good pecking for my trouble.

The early potatoes are now in the ground and I gave the lawn it's first cut of the year. I do like early spring.

And yes I know I should have made good use of the wonderful weather by getting out on two wheels but I had other things to do on top of the above and I get to have a good three hour spin on Wednesday when I have to get Hugh to a Trumpet dealer for a minor warranty job.

First cut ? Blimey I've cut mine about four times since the new year. If I hadn't it would be about six inches high now!

Whilst shopping today, some bloke dropped a £35 bottle of Moet champagne, boom!

No one hurt, he picked up another and legged it to the cash desk, didn't hang around!

IAM observer telling me I'd be in for my mock advanced test in literally a few weeks, 4-5 more sessions..

Well chuffed, I've only had 2 runs so far

Excellent From my Bikesafe ride last year I was already fairly high standard so the IAM is something of a refresh and polish up..

Todays session was on overtakes, which went well yet very different from how I'd normally have done it. But I can now see why
