Castle Combe Threat
I have just received this from a friend
Please sign. http://www.petitiononline.com/306007/petition.html Please help to keep Castle Combe circuit open. It has been open since the 1940's. Two recently arrived residents in the village (who rent, and have not bought their properties) have forced the Council to issue noise abatement notices on the circuit. If these are not lifted the circuit will have to close. Please sign the petition at the website above, it will only take a moment of your time. Neville |

Re: Castle Combe Threat
Wont be your local for long if the killjoys have their way.
I hope it works out,but if they did close it I would laugh if they built a really scummy estate there.

Re: Castle Combe Threat
aparantly they try to close it every once in a while. It does actually have one of the strictest noise limits of all, standard GSXR750's have been turned away from it!!
It is only down to dumb people who buy a house next to it then think oh actually its quite loud here. They wont close it, it brings in far too much money. its used all year round and in the summer there are events and track days at least a couple of times a week. |

Re: Castle Combe Threat
Its because they test bikes wrong, they do it the same as cars at 3/4 revs right on the exhaust rather than properly which is 1/2 revs at about a 1m from it!! FFS you would think that race tracks would be able to get things like that correct. Obviously a standard bike is legal or it would not be on the road.

Re: Castle Combe Threat
This is years old. The case has been and gone.
3 residents complained. Just 3. It went to court, went in favour of residents (of which moved there after the track was built), hence why it doesn't get the UK GT Championship and all track days have to be below a certain DB now. |
