Default Planning Routes on the PC - What do you use?

This is directed to all the computer challenged folks out there

Which software you use to plan routes on?

Don't mind if it's free or not.

Cheers

I acquired a copy of Microsoft map point Europe 2006.

considering I hate all things microcrap. It is actually quite a good mapping tool and reasonably upto date.

I use it for planning routes. but not for detail. as I would use sat nav to navigate to specific points I didn't know.

MS AUtoroute, street level maps of Western Europe and the POI's are useful too.

(You didn't think I actually knew all of those roads in Europe did you )

I would like to have sthing on the PC and not that much online so that I could plan without the chance of the website packing up or the internet connection dropping etc etc

I shall play with both MS s/ws and see which one suits me best

If anyone else uses anything else let us know - I'll try that as well

Also, google maps (like that's going to go down!) and multimap, and streetmap.

All online, all free.
