Hi All,
Called into Hein Gericke for oil n filter at the weekend, but they don't supply the sump washer, and I remember a while back, Jonboy mentioning the fact to always replace the old one. So the questio0ns are: 1.Where can I get a bag of em from, cos I can onyl imagine them being pennies. 2. If not, can I replace with summat else? in ther form of washer stylie? Cheers - Mass Sorry about the really sil;ly question first thing on Monday morn folks ![]() |

Strictly speaking you don't need to. My experience has been that it will last a few changes. It's more important to achieve the correct torque.
Having said that, I do try and change mine at least every 3rd oil change. I usually get them from a suzi stealer. part number - 09168-12002 |

Can you explain a little about the correct torque please? I just thought it was a "Put it back in as tight as it came out" Jobby? |

Jonboy never repllces his by the way(tight git
![]() Suzuki ones are not pennies though. About 30-35p a pop. Quite expensive when you think of it. Honda ones for my Bros were 10p or less each I can'e see any reason why you can't the right fitting regular sump washer but I just never have. Mine is changed every oil change and I don't use a torque wrench to do it up. I just tighten it 2/6 to half a turn once bolt has contacted washer. I do though put a dab of silicon sealant(belt and braces) on the outside between bolt and sump. Easy to strip the threads on ally sump on some of these bikes . I can remember what the torque figure are but I did check and thought no way Cheers Ben |

re-somethingorother=anneal
![]() I'd think any copper washer of the same inner bore and with decent thickness will do. At a guess about 13mm, and 2mm thick, but just a guess. |

In case anybody is worried, I've not had one leak yet and the last one did 16k before being changed (that was 5 or 6 oil changes, can't remember off the top of my head)
Current one has just over 10k and 3 changes on it and no leaks. |
