It lacks the 'cool' factor for me. Think I'd rather wear a hat and get wet.

Do you think the lens on the black X300 is a later model? The one that you sent down on the silver X300 only goes up to f16.

Yes, I think so. Set the control dial to the green 'P', lock the shutter on green f22, - the camera will then choose aperture and shutter speed for you. It doesn't tell you in the viewfinder the settings that it chooses though.
It only works with MD lenses or later 3rd party lenses which have a green minimum aperture

That's ok then, the other lens has a green f16. A little accessory for you http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/132126558470

I think you are right. If I remember correctly we had a few posts about that because I was confused about that lens, which I took off an x700 but is different from the lens on my x700.
It sounds like the one on your x300 is an MD lens?? The one I sent you is an earlier Rokkor.

Ah, the lens on the X300 just says Minolta. The other one says MD Rokkor. So what is a X-370S then?

Not sure what the 370s was exactly. Anther plastic offshoot of the x300. Think this one was made by Seagull in China.

No, I'll stick with the metal bodies. Though I do want a Chinese or a Seagull camera. Will try to pick one up later in the year.
Scarily, I've accumulated 8 Minoltas now.
