Bandit rear wheel - too tight?
Hi I posted here before cos for a while I been thinking of putting the bandit wheel to fit a 180 tyre. I have seen some pics on here of people who have done it and it looks very good, but one concern I have is that everything looks tight.
How much gap do you get between the chain and tyre when you fit the 180 tyre? cos when I look at the current gap with my 160 tyre, there is not much clearance, so I am worried that even if the chain slacks even very slightly it could rub against the tyre. I am saying this also cos I assume the sprocket position will remain the same even with the bandit wheel. THis needs to be the same cos it depends on the front sprocket position, right? Does anyone who has fitted the bandit wheel have any close ups of clearance with tyre and chain? That would be great if you could put one (or two) up. I really wanna convince myself that it can be fitted properly but not too sure at the minute... |

Re: Bandit rear wheel - too tight?
It can be done and has been by several people. It's tight but within tolerance.

Re: Bandit rear wheel - too tight?
I've not got mine fitted- probably never will now, had a change of plan- but it does fit, and with room to spare. Don't worry about it Chains slap up-down not left-right after all.

Re: Bandit rear wheel - too tight?
I see, so from that sort of comment, I take it there is no official tolerance and you were simply talking rectally again then!!?
Kulay, quite a few people have done the 180 bandit rear mod before and I don't recall anyone saying they have encountered any problems of this nature, so I assume it isn't something you need to overly worry about Last edited by Blue_SV650S; 15-07-08 at 04:12 PM. |

Re: Bandit rear wheel - too tight?
Since Bigape can't be bothered, I will... the words "within tolerance" doesn't imply any official tolerance at all, it just means "safe". Which it is.
