Default OMO: Recommend me a washing machine please.

As title, just for two of us in the house, needs to be reliable, nothing too fancy.
The last hotpoint lasted just long enough to get thru the warranty then pop!

Cheers.

Funny enough, we've just replaced our ten year old Indesit washer dryer. We replaced some parts on it last year, heating element and thermal thingy for the dryer. Sadly it has gone again, so we decided to replace the machine this time. Probably would have sufficed just those parts again as they aren't expensive, but its ten years old.

Indesit are the same company as Hotpoint, but I've found them pretty reliable......lets see how this new one goes!

We have a Beko at the moment. Seems to do the job although it sometimes won't drain properly.

Bosch, always had them, just replaced the last one which was about 13 yeare old. In that time the brushes for the motor were replaced, it never broke down, despite daily washes of two children's clothing.

I only replaced it because the program selector had stopped working and the bearings were getting a bit noisy. But it was still working.

Previous one was a Bosch, which also never broke down, it just wore out.

This latest one was on offer at Curry's for £294 delivered, and hopefully I'll get £26 cashback from Quidco.

If I could afford one, I'd get a Meile, super quiet machines.

They consistently get good reviews in Which magazine.

Replaced out Bosch last year with an LG. LG and Panasonic do machines with direct drive, inverter powered motors, so no brushes or belts to wear out. Its pretty quiet too.

Indesit seem to be ok. Don't have much interest in these things but the other half must do about 4 bloody washes each day. It must be at least 8 years old now and has never needed a repair. Sounds a bit like it's mixing cement at times but it refuses to die.
