So I had to filter through about 2 miles of stuck tourists, caravans and buses on a tiny twisty road. And it wasn't even wide enough to filter. I had wriggle my way past every car wing wirror. Even got told off my a bus driver for touching his bus with my mirror. Then I got stuck behind a coach that was struggling to get past all the motor homes, so obviously I couldn't get past it at all. The bike was overheating, the underseat exhausts were cooking me alive, which was actually kinda nice to dry me off a bit

THEN... the stupid Lix Toll petrol station was closed. It had 24 hour pumps but all the card slots had a bolt in them for some reason. So I carried on at an economical 50mph, but the bike died 3.5 miles away from Aberfeldy at 105 miles. Coasted it for a surprisingly long time. Must have been 500 yards at least (brakes must be in good order!). Then I pushed it up the hills, coasted down the hills and tried not to cause an accident for about 1.5 miles. Cars and bikes all passing me, not giving a ****. Then finally a nice couple offered to get me some petrol.

Oh and a bird or a bat flew in to my chest earlier as well and I screamed like a girl

Should have stayed in bed
camelbak as a reserve tank?

Some Dorsoduro owners have actually built secondary tanks from metal fuel bottles attached to the bike. It looks a bit sketchy to me though!

Nights are getting shorter and with the weather being fair on sunday i thought i would do a long run.

If people want to come along can you say so, if not then i wont bother going to the start point. if people want to tag on along the route then make sure that you have enough fuel to get to the next petrol point as i'm not pizzarzzing around looking for fuel.

if you are coming along but only doing part of the route can you tell me where you will be departing on the route.

Yeah sorry about that everyone. I know I'm a pain in the ar se

I'll meet you in Crieff if that's ok. That keeps my trips to a manageable 90 miles

About 10am? Have you set your alarm?

Run out of fuel? :P

i had an eventful Sunday with a ride to Newcastle on a new(to me) VFR, which promptly decided it didnt like charging its battery anymore! managed to get to Eyemouth before it cut out completely, then a couple of hours waiting on AA Recovery. got home at 11pm yay!

Jemma was surprisingly chipper about "her" bike breaking down :P

Unlucky! Have you found out what is wrong with it? Is this to replace the SV?

ouch! least you kept it upright! bet that got the heart rate going :P

VFR is for a bit of Touring action, the SV isnt the most comfortable 2 up, Jemma is getting pretty keen on getting out and about, and pretty much demanded that i get a touring bike :P it was meant to be used for winter also, but she is already getting precious about it!

Some tard fitted a chinese rec, so reckon its bit the dust, currently looking at replacement options. MOSFET upgrade looks to be the way to go. Battery looks chinese too, so thats getting replaced also.
