Re: the PC Gaming thread
That fella really did seem to like the oculus with the game!
It will be great when that becomes mainstream. Is Elite Dangerous a game where if you die you start from scratch? It looks like fun but more so as a group rather than lonewolfs?

Re: the PC Gaming thread
Traditionally it was always a single player, exploring the galaxy etc but it will have 3 modes, solo, group and open, all needing Internet to maintain the universe and allowing your progress to switch between the modes seamlessly.
You can pay insurance to get back your ship when you die, but you need to make sure you have surplus credits in the game. You can be a bounty hunter, pirate, explorer, trader, miner or a mix of any. Have a nosey on twitch, I'm watching this guy play at the mo: http://www.twitch.tv/londongaming4fun It seems most of the backers and gamma players are mostly 30-40 yrs, it's a really good community

Re: the PC Gaming thread
Yep, early days, just the one session under my belt and I now have 30000cr from mostly mapping stars and selling the data. I did some trading and missions before that and made just over 10000cr...still early days, not sure what approach I will take yet

Re: the PC Gaming thread
Had my first 3hr session last night.
In awe. Accomplished... nothing. And it was marvellous. 8 of us queued outside a small outpost awaiting docking permission, just hanging watching some very amusing flying. Found my free Eagle in Dalton. Probably punt it. Had a couple of interdictions, vectored out of one and boosted away on one I "lost." Have started using headphones, to stop the house shaking and the sounds are fantastic. I'm in no rush, I like savouring my gaming and this thing allows just that. The detail is incredible. Kai: CMDR A.Stramasher, out there, barely in control, nae window and running out of gas. |

Careful with fuel scoops by the way, had to use insurance for my eagle for the first time this morning...got to 300% on the heat level! I so badly want a cobra, so I have the cargo space and all the gadgets I need too...I gave up the cargo for fuel scoops on the Eagle to do discovery stuff....Next stop a hauler to trade and get enough credits for a cobra I might try a keep the Eagle alongside the hauler until I am ready for the cobra
