Default New exhaust can without using a link pipe

Hi there.
I bought an end can, like you do, with no idea you had to cut the existing exhaust to fit it.
The can was new/ unused and advertised to fit an SV, so I bought it.
It came without a link pipe so I had a look for one, they're about £35 on eBay.
I decided I'd have a go at doing it another way.
I cut my standard exhaust at the silencer

I then bought one of these for £14

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FUEL-Suzuk...72.m2749.l2649
The exact diameter of the cut exhaust, when cut at the silencer, is 53mm.
So any end can with a 53mm inlet will fit with one of these connectors as long as the exhaust hanger is moveable so that you can slide it to meet up with the fixing on the rear footrest hanger.
So then I was left with this, both cut exhaust and new exhaust inlets are the same size, 53mm.

Just then a case of putting the connector in place and getting the hanger lined up

Quick link to youtube to hear it, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZe23AEeTiI
Sorry if all this has been said before, but I thought I'd share it.
Cheers
Nick

photobucket dont allow 3rd party viewing now without a premium subscription, you need to use something like imgur.com for image hosting

Yep, Big arrow is step one, that way the images don't resize the forum massively then copy/paste the link - rinse repeat for each pic

If it is they sound pretty sweet! I was considering one but realised that my Remus Revolution with no baffle is plenty loud. It wasn't until I heard the bike bike with someone else riding it though

Great post.Thinking of doing the same but I know I would have to inform,"Bennets" of the change and pay.If we don't inform the Insurance companies they will wheedle out of claims if there's an accident

Did you have to re-jet or change anything fuel wise?

Not so. If they would have insured it with the mod then you will just be charged for the additional cost that would have been added to your premium if you had declared it in the first place
