Choke lever
A while back I managed to crash my K1 SUV on a track day. Despite my R&G's saving the day I somehow managed to kick off my Choke Lever! I know, what are the odds? I haven't even looked at the mechanism but is it easy to replace? Has anyone done it? Can you buy the part or does anyone have one?

Pretty easy... Slightly fiddly is all. The housing comes apart with 2 screws underneath, you can pretty much work out what's what once it's in bits. But you'll need to open it up to be sure what's broken.

If its just the lever, then yes, very easy to replace. Unscrew the housing, remove lever, replace, screw back housing...is the general idea.

Maybe I should have looked first! Anyone got one? It's just the lever. I snapped off the last half inch. (Oh Matron!)

Easy to replace as all have said.
However I don't think that you can get the lever seperatly. I have a fault with the wires to the clutch swich and after spending the afternoon in Fowlers parts department we reached the conclusion that the switch gear is only a complete unit that costs about £70. Sorry for the bad news. Hopefully I'm wrong. So your options will be glue it back on or go second hand (would reckon about £10 off ebay). |

It'll be teh same part on other Suzuks I'm sure... GSXR SRAD at least I'm 9/10 sure is the exact same, Bandit I think as well.

Carbed SRAD that is, FI ones won't have a choke

just thinking aloud, but it might be a viable alternative to use one of the "old fashioned" choke levers like this
http://motorcycleproducts.co.uk/cata...ers-c-239.html if you really can't get the proper item. |
