Standard Exhaust
I'm thinking about putting a standard exhaust on the curvy, I've got an ART can on at the moment, which is loud. If anyone's got one going PM me with the price, many thanks.

Re: Standard Exhaust
I have 1 standard can, cut into two to make stubbys.... I thought that would be no help.

Re: Standard Exhaust
But the standard exhaust is SO hideous and the ART can is lovely. If you really want to be quiet (WHY????) can you not just get a decibel killer for the ART?

Re: Standard Exhaust
Is it that bad? I do like the ART can, but with the MOT laws and stuff not sure how I'm gonna get around it... and leaving home at 6am, the neighbours might start to get slightly miffed at me.

Re: Standard Exhaust
The original really is that bad, yes
If it helps, our SV got through an MOT with our stubby on, and always passed with the ART on, but if you are really concerned about upsetting the neighbours I would look for a decibel killer and keep the lovely-looking ART.

Re: Standard Exhaust
Mike let me know the width of the exit on your art-i might have a mini baffel that'll fit mate-if its the right size i'll send it to you-you'll just need to drill a small hole underneath on the exit spout for a retaining bolt

Re: Standard Exhaust
If that's a problem then you're using the wrong test station, the neighbors will look after themselves.

Unless your after market can is stamped not for road use or similar it will pass an MOT. There is no noise test, simply a subjective opinion. Many MOT testers take the view a loud can is an essential safety feature to a bike.
