Default rev limiter

does the curvy sv650 have a rev limiter. if so what is it at

It does have a limiter start the bike up let it warm and rev it and look at the rev counter and see when it kicks in!!!!

Or alternatively take someone elses word for it kicking in at 11,500 rpm

The two times I felt it kick in seemed to be around 11500-12000, though to be fair, checking the revs while it feels/sounds the way it does, isn't the first thing I've done. It's not as bad as I've heard it described on other bikes - it's quite gentle (I thought).

ive never herd it on my bike but my cousin has in 2nd i give him a bollocking!!!!!

The only time mine kicked in was in an overtake in too low a gear I have no idea what the revs were at - too busy looking where I was going (or not !)

its about 11,500

mine spits flames out when you hit it (i didnt do it on purpose)

IIRC the rev limiter cuts one of the spark plugs, it's not a major issue if it cuts in, that's what it's there for, but the SV makes it's best power a fair bit lower than that anyway

On my pointy rev limiter kicks in at about 12-12500! Sounds great aswell!

so the pointy does have a rev limiter then?

I was a bit worried about destrying my engine, as every now and then (missed gears , too eager etc) the rev needle darted into the red. I wasn't sure if it was a rev limiter or the valves bouncing
