Why wire wheels by the way?

Also by the way, is there a way of viewing this thread so it fits to the screen width. The (lovely) hi res pictures seem to screw up the screen sizing.

Spoked wheels are purely for looks - I'm aiming for a modern-meets-retro look, hence the Monza filler cap.

Pictures should be sized for a 15" monitor, they fill the screen but no more on my laptop and pc.......

What are you planning for exhausts? Underseat? MotoGP? Pair of retro megaphones?

Original plan had been for an under-engine silencer a la Buell or KTM RC8 but this is looking less likely due to header length disparity and clearance under the sump....

Part of me would like a 2-2 system with a silencer either side, like the Akra system I've had on RSVR's in the past...

....but the risk with systems like that is that when you crash, or even just drop the bike, you will always need to repair/replace a silencer.

At the moment I'm looking at making from scratch, or modifying an off-the-shelf system, to produce something like this....

It'll be a fun bike for road and occasional track days. No lights, so on a "daytime" MOT.

Ah i wondered if you would do a daytime mot. How easy is it to get a bike you made yourself moted?

But it's not a bike I've made myself, it's a 1999 Suzuki SV650. Still got the original frame with original VIN #, I may have cut some lumps off it and welded some new lumps in but it is still fundamentally the same frame and engine.
