Seems like a reasonable fix for the issue!
The rubber boot which goes over the clutch lever covers the rivet end (i removed the large rivet head) I bought some for my wifes k3 model and they are fine, its a different micro switch on the earlier model

There is a Micro switch for the clutch lever to activate which was no longer working, basically the bike won't start without the switch being in the "out" position. This wasn't an issue as the new lever didn't have a tab to hold the switch in. However the bike began to stall when pulling the clutch in, huh!
A quick scout on the sv650 forum and it appears the micro switch sends a signal to the engine management system and this somehow dictates the revs once it's pulled in?

Anyway a little bit of thinking and I came up with this. The old lever is on the left clearly showing a large "tab" to activate the switch. A 3mm hole was drilled in the new lever,
I then shaped a stainless rivet and looped the end so there was a good contact point to push the switch. Epoxy resin bonded into place and a small piece of black shrink wrap and "voila" job done.
Hopefully this is the stalling issue and only time will tell now if it solves the problem. The bike has been fine up until fitting the levers so it does seem significant.
OMG... Who would have thought that pulling the clutch in would release the button??? I would have expected that pulling the clutch in would have pressed the button in, just by the nature of the action....

I have the absolute same issue.... http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=217624

And to top this off, the bike shop charged me for a replacement STVA which didn't fix the problem.

All this time and all it was, was the after market brake levers.

Garysv1000, is there any chance you could post a pic of your modification, the pic is no longer showing.

Cheers

Roger

The first picture is from underneath the lever, the second is from the top, the rubber boot covers the mod up nicely

Picture as requested Roger, sorry for delay

update. the information i gave is wrong. it looks like suzuki have actually for once not done a parts bin special and the later SV clutch lever is indeed a one off specific to that perch.

tried and tested on an L0 (2010) with using a gsxr oem lever. it fits and works but rubs the cable on the adjuster.

had more of a dig and official suzuki website states that bikes up to K9 (including curvy) use same lever and perch. bikes from L0 (2010) use different lever and perch which is same as weestrom (DL650) L0

I bought some Gladius Chevers. They work, but the fit isn't 'perfect'.
