Default L7 Pad's

Convinced that somebody substituted blocks of Teak for my brake pads somewhere between leaving the factory and me getting my hands on my 2016 SV. Recommendations on replacement items would be gratefully received.

Are they worn out or do you just not like the feel?

No not worn out but really don't like the lack of initial "bite" followed by the wooden feel thereafter.

I was riding what could be classed as budget bikes earlier this week and they really put the SV's front brakes in a poor light.

I like EBC GG pads for feel, although they wear fairly quickly.

Same here. Never had much use over winter..but now the sun's here there definitely leaving a lot to be desired, plus I'm struggling to find places that stock different pads for it, or what to go for?

Thanks, I'll look into them pal...I took my pads out and it had some nasty scouring on the pads, cleaned then up an there working great now. For how long I don't know, but a few people have referred me to ebc now so I think I'll be goin for them...cheers

Was there a particular grade you liked, as there showing a race set and street set, and would they(Street) be worth it?

I would go for the straight organic pads FA229 and FA231.

By the way those part numbers are the same as pads for my K6. So I suggest checking with your supplier that they definitely will fit your L7.

Are the calipers different?
According to some reviews of the new SV the Tokico calipers haven't been changed since 1999.
