Can't understand why anyone would want to be surrounded by motorway. The place is unsellable.

thats why I put it up- I always thought he owned all the land around and made a packet then was stubborn but it explains the truth and not the urban legend

The motorway goes each side of his house because it has to, not because he was a stubborn old sod. There was a documentary about the building of the motorways on the sattelite tellyboxviewer thingy a while back, I saw it on that.

I watched that program to. It was called "The Secret Life of the Motorway" they had to go around the farm because the land wasnt suitable to build the motorway on as its all full of peat bogs and it was to soft to provide suitable foundation for the road.
