something to watch out for is the sprocket carrier spacer not being put back in at tyre fitters and when questions will deny all knowledge of it.

as said, dont use a split link on big bikes it has no place apart from emergency situations to get you home.

get a scottoiler and save yourself the hassle of ever having to lube a a chain again.

then you most definitely want a scottoiler. in 32k miles my chain has moved 3 bars on the swingarm from new, in fact the only time i adjust my chain is when i get a new tyre on. with a scottoiler you know your chain is always lubed. it pays for itself as you need less chain/sprocket changes never mind the time taken on spraying lube and such.

i do 200-400 miles every sunday when the weather is nice and i would not be without mine.

dont listen to the scare stories about them oiling the back tyre, its just that scare stories. it flings no more or less than chain spray once set up properly.

all you do once fitted is top the rez up around every 1-2k miles depending on flow rate.

If you can't afford a Scottoiler there is a cheaper alternative that people seem to like called the,"loobman",

http://www.loobman.co.uk/

Less than 20 quid

Well, I never took the bolts out of my sprocket to spin it in the end... I got as far as taking the spindle out when I noticed the wheel move quite weirdly side to side...before it had came out of the swing arm.... So I rested the spindle flat on the edge of a few different work surfaces with a light shining from behind it...and it shows light thru the bottom every full turn, so I'm thinking spindles bent then.....if so would this cause the wobble I'm talking of from the back and also the chain slack to tight???
