Growing up in the north west tony wilson was always on the telly when I was growing up and it always seemed bizzare to me that the man who put the sex pistols on the telly created factory record and was responsible for Joy division/new order happy mondays and the hacienda could be quite happy reading the local news as well.Top fella.

As a fellow Northerner Couldn't agree more. Last time I saw him on TV I thought he looked ill, didn't realise he'd got cancer. Will be sadly missed
