Just got out for a run. 4.7 miles. In the pishing rain.
I should have broken out the head torch as it was pitch black by the time I got back. I think my bodies still getting over the weekends event.

Yes, I'm going to have to start using mine for the correct purpose soon, rather than for computer and bike repairs/servicing!

I used to hate running in the rain but I don't mind so much these days as long as it's not freezing cold at the same time.

Yeah, after the baking summer we had in was quite pleasant. I think I'd rather the rain than sweltering heat.
I don't mind the cold either, that's what layering is for.

Just a shame those ******* stinging nettles were in stealth mode in the fading light. Definitely got my dose. Both legs are on fire. Sodding shorts.

Headed out for a flat canalside run this afternoon, coaching a friend who has done the couch25k alone and is just getting started on running properly. I'm going to take her to parkrun on Saturday.

Had planned to go for a run after work. But after limping around after the last one on Tuesday, my missus had enough of me not doing anything about it and booked me in to see a physio instead. And it turns out I've had an insipid hernia for the last couple of years. Right where my groin and several other muscles I can't remember join my pelvis. He's given me a couple of exercises to do to try to repair the muscle. But I'm not allowed to run for 3 weeks whilst I focus on this area. Gutted. There goes me ramping up the training. I'm not even allowed to cycle.

Bloody hell Martin, that sounds not very nice. Give it the chance to heal properly though, it'll pay off in the long term. Are you allowed to swim?

Up early for parkrun tomorrow. Over to Erddig, a lovely scenic course.

parkrun at Erddig yesterday morning. I always really enjoy this, it's such a lovely venue and a great beginning to the weekend (even if everything else did start to fall apart before I got home afterwards!)

Took a friend along for her first ever parkrun too.

Well, after the week from hell(!) and no running, I finally made it across for Erddig parkrun this morning. What a great way to begin the weekend, lovely bunch of parkrunners, fabulous volunteers making it all happen, and one of my girls, Eleri came and ran too. Set me up nicely for the weekend.
Hoping to get across to Chirk Castle for the Trust10k tomorrow morning as well.
