Default New tyre needed

Hi all,
I'm in need of a new rear tyre. I got a screw in the 020 that was on it and luckily the local bike shop put an old part worn on it for £5 to tide me through (good mates of mine). So after a new tyre, I've read alot of stuff on the Z6 and the PR2 so what do you think?
I'm going to be using the bike all year round atm doing 40miles a day and come september doing 60+miles a day. I also want to do some touring in the summer into france etc.
I like to ride the bike hard though and want to have some fun enjoying it's handling (I had a shagged zxr400 before this and even on the 020's it feels much better).
It's also worth taking into account the fact that I have a BT020 on the front aswell.
I've found the Z6 supplied for £91 and the PR2 for £100 and fitting is bugger all for me so it's really up to peoples opinions.
Cheers
Dan

I don't think mixing and matching would be a good idea, especially picking different brands. The best option would probably be to get another 020 or possibly an 021.

How worn is the front, as it might be a good idea to change as a pair - you then get any choice of tyre that you fancy.

Yeah IMO stick a set of avon storms on, they have puncture warranty for first 1mm of tread. Keep the partworns just in case. 140 quid plus fitting.

Please have a look in the tyres section of the forum. All the current crop of sports touring tyres have their fans. None of them are bad tyres. If you're keeping the front 020 I might be tempted to fit an 021 rear as the profiles are likely to be similar

I will need a new 020 soon (gonna put a new rear on until front wears and then change to some stickier stuff) anyone know either where to get a cheap 020 rear or something else compatible with 020 front (is an 021 any good) but dont want more rear end grip than front, Thanks

Yeah that's about the sum of it really

Fit a pair that you like the look of the tread pattern on

LOL Seems to be that way. Although if keeping a Bridgestone on the front, I'd get another Bridgestone for the rear to match. As Jambo stated the profile (shape) will be similar and so turn in will be better balanced than on a mis-matched pair.

Yep i can vouch for this, fitted a new storm in in the 2nd week of may, did 100 or so miles then got a nail in it

so took it back to where it was fitted, took it off and found this:

as it was in the warranty limits it was changed! job done
