I've got some spare heat resistant sealant "Fire Putty" - brilliant for exhausts. I won't be coming to Soho tomorrow (I'm having CT scan done on my leg) but you are free to swing by mine and pick it up if you need it. Just drop me a PM and I'll give you my address.

From pertsonal experience i can tell you that Fire Putty is tottaly and utterly crap! I too was suprised by this from a brand like Holts but it dires and goes flaky after a while where as a silicon sealant stays flexible.

Lucas...i have a tube of sealant i'll bring to soho for you tomorrow.

Well, it worked really well on my exhaust - mind you I used it only as an additional means to ensure the joints were properly sealed under the clamps. I wouldn't know how it would work if you used it to seal a hole..

Thats exactly what its meant for mate, yet if you ever take the clamp off you will find its all turned into a chalky, flaky mass thats just sitting there and not bonded to either surface. Like i say i expected it to be very good but i was very disappointed to say the least.
