I hope someone like an older sweaty biker type gets jumped by them next time, as the old fashioned amongst them are still known to be carrying an odd lump of bar down the frame, or anything that inflicts damage in an emergency.

You are indeed lucky they didn't do much else.

Wow mate sorry to hear this, sounds like a bad experience.. you should claim for damages to the bike and a new lid since when they punched you it "probably ruined it" (as when you drop it)

Make the little sh*ts pay. And next time punch them in the face...lay them out and ride over them.

Thanks - I felt the same - I think my ego took more of a bruising than anything else really - just feel so annoyed

Apparently although you can claim compensation but the courts only award it if the sort of compo you are looking for comes to over £500.

Agree about the riding over them though

well you don't really expect some gimp and a chav to be attempting that sort of activity when your sat waiting at lights.

look into your house insurance to claim for a new lid. It seems a few folk claim for damaged lids like this lately. Usually they've had 'offs'. I suppose you don't need to say how it was damaged though.

New lid £200, brake lever (OEM) £30, new engine case/replacement bung, bar end, proffesional fitting, should add up fairly simple

Make it a pain in the backside.

God this is an awful - it just gets worse - glad you're relatively ok though, I never usually feel vulnerable when I'm on the bike sat at lights etc, but I shall now....

Never had that happen to me, sorry to hear about it.

I don't understand chavs that shout things at you whilst your riding, usually I give them the V's or a friendly waving jester, but for somebody to approach me like that I don't know how I'd react but same as dave I have a short fuse and violence comes first for me.
