05 CBR600RR vs 07 CBR600RR
Can anyone tell me the main features which have been altered from '05 model to the '07 model. I've read the stuff on wikipedia, but can't really find anything else. I've tested the 07 CBR and loved it, but I think my budget will only allow me to get an 06 model.....
If anyone has ridden both bikes, is there a large difference in mid power torque, braking etc etc? Do all the 600rr models have a digital gear indicator? |

Not ridden an older RR, but I love my 07 one
The 07 model doesn't have a gear indicator, it has something much more useful .... a fuel gauge I don't think the older ones had them either, but someone will be along in a minute to let you know. |

Re: 05 CBR600RR vs 07 CBR600RR
Yeh the fuel gauge is very useful. The reason I ask is because I'm buying a new bike when I get back from my holiday at the end of the month. It's between the Daytona 675 and CBR600rr.
I loved the triumph because it's so similiar to the vtwin, felt a lot more comfortable. I love the little gizmos such as lap timer, and the lights next to the rev counter. Although i felt the riding position a little too extreme, after about 30mins my wrists were starting to ache. Also they're quite expensive to maintain, 400quid for a main service! I've always wanted a CBR, and when I rode the 07rr it was awesome. Power was great, handling and suspension spot on, very comfy too. The brakes were mad! (maybe a little too mad) Then again I wasn't as confident on the bike because I don't regularly ride il4. So I'm just trying to find out everything on the two bikes as I really don't know which one to get!! |

Re: 05 CBR600RR vs 07 CBR600RR
There is a fair bit of differance physically between the RR5/6 and RR7/8 both have a fuel guage and neither have a gear indicator though lol
I think the RR7/RR8 frame and engine are even completely different from the RR5/6, but I dont know the fine details. Both amazing bikes though, if you can afford the RR7/8 then obviously get the newer model, as the newer model will always be an improvement over an older model even if its fractional.

Well I can get an 07 model, but I love the Movistar paint job despite quite a lot of people saying it looks tacky. So that means I'd have to buy a 2008 bike, and Im not up for spending 7 grand, so I'll be most likely buying an 06.

Hey that's lovely! I like all of those extras, do you know how much they are to buy + fit? The extra rev counter is really cool! I thought the cbr already had a steering damper?
