Standard or High Mounted Exhaust?
How do,
Getting a new can for my 2001 SV650. Can't decide whether I prefer the standard mounting or the high mounted ones. I think probably the high mounted ones. What do you guys recon? Toby |

Re: Standard or High Mounted Exhaust
High level is a particular taste. I've had one and was very pleased with it. Now have it back down low but stubbied. Choose what you want. Easy.

Re: Standard or High Mounted Exhaust
Depends how high and if you take luggage with you, although some folk run high level pipes (not the highest though) with panniers with no problems.
If luggage isn't a worry for you, then just get what you like. |

Nah I don't want a stubby can, not to my taste. I think I'm going to go for a hi can

Re: Standard or High Mounted Exhaust
My hi-level Remus link pipe fouls my boots if I have my toes on the peg. Size 9's.
Annoying when giving it yee-ha in the twisties as it burns the side of my boot when right whooring it. Loads of different styles of Hi-level though but if I had my time again I would go low. Mibee. |

Re: Standard or High Mounted Exhaust
Luggage is the only practical issue. Other than that it's down to what you think looks best.
High level looks tidier with the rear pillion pegs removed IMO so that might be something to consider. |

If you have pillion pegs on, you will have to fit spacers, so your mate don't get hot feet

Re: Standard or High Mounted Exhaust
I was planning on getting a scorpion hi mount which comes with all the necessery link pipes and mounting brackets etc.
I am told by the supplier that providing the pegs and indicator/numberplate mountings are all standard it should be fine and no modification (besides cutting the original pipe) will be needed. Does this sound about right to you? |
