Default Battery - SV650s 2003

So my battery has died (well enough not to turn over) and i need a new one.

Question: i currently have (was in it when bought) a YTX9-BS but ive read it should/could be a YTX12-BS. Please advise....

I'm sure some of the more experienced posters can direct soon.

The first two letters on Motorcycle Battery designations normally are the Brand.YT stands for Yuasa.

I use,"Motobatt" batteries when replacing and there seems to be a couple for your bike depending on it's style,

I won't entertain normal,"Lead Acid" batteries anymore.I'd rather pay the little extra shopping around.Apart from the maintenance free aspect I laid a bike down,in a small brook :O and the old lead acid battery lost it's fluid and then died not long after.Gel and AGM batteries won't do this.

YTX 12 BS is the Yuasa type. I'm not suggesting you buy it from here but this is what went into my k4 last year.

I've got this one: YTZ14S

It's not stock but it's the same size with higher CCA and capacity.

The AGM absorbed glass mat battery will give you same capacity in smaller case size or more capacity in same size case. I swear by yuasa batteries as I have never had a problem, which is more than I can say for some other makes.

Another thumbs up for Motobatt, i use them exclusively now. Tons of cranking amps and very hard to kill one.

I love the simple addition of the extra lugs on the terminals for auxiliary electrical connections as well as all you have said
