DVLA - Licence query
I had to renew my photocard in Jan - duly took all photo copies and checked for my bike entitlement on its return no problems thre photocopies out.
Now I find that my bike entitlement start from 20/50/07 not 05 when i passed my test. Becuase i was on a restricted licence they took my entitlement from my when my restriction came off. I've spoken to DVLA and they won't change it but surely that's not right I tell plods that I've been riding for 5years but licence says otherwise Does that mean I'm going to have to carry my test cert around as well?? I'm well but.com too |

AAARGH!
No the entitlement is right, whilst you were restricted your entitlement was A2 - after 2 years, your entitlement changes to A so you have only held the A entitlement since 07.... make sense??? |

Re: DVLA - Licence query
It's just how the DVLA works. If any plod disbelieved you then we have access to the DVLA Database which details when you passed tests CBT, etc etc etc so it will show that you held a retricted licence for two years.
The DVLA are right on this one. It's just because of the change of entitlement. |

Re: DVLA - Licence query
I didn't know that. But then why would I? There was no such thing as a restricted licence when I did my test a million years ago.

Re: DVLA - Licence query
Lily, it won't show the A2 on her photocard, it might on the counterpart, not sure. The photocard only shows what entitlements you currently hold and as she no longer holds A2 there is no need for it to be shown.

Re: DVLA - Licence query
That's the same as LGV as well. I used to have class 3 on my licence until I passed class 1. Now it just shows class 1 entitlement.
