It's very common for Kwak calipers to wear out, 3 of us have bought new/nearly new 'Busa calipers from Sean in the US

Those calipers are the same as
the Hayabusa calipers. I have one set of gold 6pots
in stock off an '07 with 1200km on them. They run
$165 USD plus $37 for shipping. Add 4% for Paypal
fees and your total would be $210.08 USD.
I also have a set of new '07s arriving next week.
That set would run $185 plus shipping and fees so the
total there would be $230.88 USD.
Let me know which set you would like. Either set will
come with their OEM brake pads. I can also add Galfer
HH brake pads for $72 USD plus 4% for PayPal fees if
you'd like upgraded brake pads with them.

Rather than bother with the 6-pots, just get some old 4-pots from a late 90s ZX6R or GSXR600 - the ones with mounting points 90mm apart. They're cheaper and more plentiful and work just as well. I think the set I had are now on a friend's ZX9R, so they're more than up to the job.

cheers for the advice fellas. I'm going to have a go at rebuilding the calipers as it doesn't cost anything, assuming the seals are ok - which they should be really, I don't think the bike has been ridden in winter. If tht doesn't work I'll look into the other options further. There are also some very tastey AP racing calipers going on ebay at the moment. The only problem being they cost £400
