Just been stung by a bee while riding. Little blighter hit me in the face between my open main visor and the sun visor, dropped out of the bottom of my lid into the open neck of my jacket. Had to pull over rather sharpish.

Been there myself. Not nice. Luckily we were on our way to our holiday cottage and Lady Poppy had brought some Anthisan as she gets a bad reaction to stings.

It's surface dressing season again. Nearly every road I tried between Croft thru Teesdale and Weardale had a tar and chip section with the obligatory gravel marbles and an advisory 20mph limit. The Stanhope to Edmundbyers road was a 'mare as they were in the process of doing it and there were chips flying everywhere.
Once home, I spent an hour digging lumps of stone out of my tyres and removing bits of gravel from various parts of the bike where the tar had stuck and hardened.

I rode some roads out here that had just been done. They also dressed a massive section of the A12 North that clearly didn't need doing.

Yeah. It just seems random and pointless, and doesn't fix any of the fundamental road defects.
It's a council financial ruse of some sort

Yep, I found some on one of my normal cycling routes this morning. What's strange as this section was only done a couple of years ago, and it didn't need doing!

Have to say that they had done a proper resurfacing job on one part of the west bound A12 and it's now nice and smooth, they just need to do the other bad bits.

My Win10 laptop, which I've been already been using this morning, decided it no longer liked my password I've had for the last 6 months when it awoke from sleep. Caps lock/num lock wasn't on - it just wouldn't take it and since it was basically my phone number I hadn't forgotten it.
I read later that this has happened before after a Win10 update and it's because (at that time) all characters were being entered as uppercase but since you can't see the characters you don't know...

Yep, had that too. My new laptop did the same thing just after updating for the first time. Luckily there is a reset.

It was Monday.
It just needs to go away and not happen again!
