For sale I have my 2001 Yamaha R6, 5MT model. £1350

Bought just over a year ago to commute on (!). The paintwork is **** so I bought it to use everyday not save for the weekends. Yes V5 is in my name and has MOT till Feb next year.

Changed ALL fluids when bought + plugs and had another oil change just before Christmas. Put in a new set of head bearings too. Fitted Michelin Pilot Powers to it and they have plenty left. New EBC clutch plates with genuine springs and clutch cable. New Ferodo front pads last summer along with a DID X-ring chain and new sprockets - std sizes. Because I commute on it I took off the straight through pipe and fitted an OEM exhaust. It has a BMC (?) air filter and I think it has been jetted for a nice pipe as it runs a bit woolly at idle only when fully warmed up.

It has been very reliable in the last year. Did 4000 miles all told, my neighbour even borrowed it when his Triumph Street Triple blew a stator. Only problem I have had was with a slippy clutch which was replaced and a leaky brass union on the water pump cover - new genuine part solved this. Rear disc is an aftermarket item and rusts quicker than an alfasud. I have a used replacement disc on the way with some new SBS pads.

The only major problem with the bike in my eyes is the rear shock. Not a lot of damping (though I am 19st!). I have sourced a used OHLINS shock for the bike but have not got round to fitting yet. THIS IS INCLUDED and I will not split from bike. Also included is a set of Powerbronze Carbon heel plates.

The only reason I don't want to keep it is I have a couple of FZR250's which only need the paint to finish, and I have an Aprilia Mille to scare myself if need be

Plus I'd rather sell this than my FZR400RR!!

Interested in this but when you say the paintwork is **** how **** is **** are the fairings cracked lugs missing etc or is it just a really bad spray job/Hammerite job ???? Any other gremlins damage etc ???? Also what's the mileage can't quite make it out on the pic,

When I say it's **** it's because a previous owner thought that if he wanted a black R6 it would be a great idea to blow over the bike without doing any prepwork. You can see the tank has pickled a bit and there are various little marks all over it. It means that it doesn't take much to mark the paint.

The only lug that appears broken is the screwport for the left infil panel behind the top fairing. Not that it rattles or vibrates, it just doesn't have an allen screw in it.

Nothing is 'hanging off' and there are no cracks in the fairings that I can see.

I replaced the belly pan with a graphite grey one and the front mudguard with a new powerbronze carbon one.

Mileage is just a shade under 22000. Anyone is more than welcome to come have a look outside of office hours. Whats your email and I will email over all the pics I took.
