LOM and Mrs LOM' s SMIDSY
On the way to Lock Tummel Friday tea time about 2 miles south of Jedburgh on the A68. It was a nice dry day in bright sunshine on nice new tarmac with freshly painted lines. Riding in company with Swaffle, I had overtaken two cars sometime before and settled below the NSL about 400M in front of the first car to await Swaffles arrival. As I approached a brow of a small hill I saw a car stop at the end of a drive on my right. He checked both ways. I dropped to 5th, rolled of the throttle and moved to the centre of my lane (as you do as you come to a blind summit). A car came over the brow and as soon as it passed he slowly turned right into my path. Banged on the brakes and moved to the left until faced with the choice of hitting the car or the trees and ditch we hit the car at I think a little under 30, this bounced us straight into the ditch. The bike flipped right and threw us onto the road and now back into the path of the car. Luckily we are only battered about abit although Mrs LOM hurts and aches more each day so far. I called a couple of specialist motorcycle solicitors who don't seem to interested as it is unlikely to result in a large personal injury claim. Almost every plastic panel on the bike is affected, I'll be surprised if it's not written off. I'd prefer it to be repaired as I love the old girl. Sensible reply's please as I'm not in humorous mood about it. BTW the two cars just drove round and cleared off.

Sorry to hear that LOM. Gutting
Even if it is written off though you will still be able to buy it back and use the money to fix it up yourself |

Re: LOM and Mrs LOM' s SMIDSY
Also dont understand why the cars drove away, people dont seem to care these days. For instance a few weeks back whilst out in the car with me brother we saw an old boy come off his bike on a roundabout now by the time we got turned around to go back and see he was alright six cars drove around him and not one stopped??? He was okay but a bit shaken so we picked him and his bike up off the road (yes they drove round him as he was layed in road tut!) and sat with him for a while until one of his friends turned up, who also thanked us for stopping.
Sat nav must not of told the cars to stop and help Heal quickly my friends

Re: LOM and Mrs LOM' s SMIDSY
claim, blame and social networking have feked this country. especially social networking with all the scaremongering. people are very reluctant to help others just incase they are taken to court for doing something wrong while helping. that and the 'bubble' syndrome the public seem to be developing.
