Re: hornet 900???
I've heard the 900 is absolutly no better than the 600.
Everything i've read says the 600 is the better bike. If your using the bike for commuting, i'd far rather than bandit. If your using it for weekend blips go with the hornet. Hornet has terrible fuel range as well. Bandit will see double the mileage. |

Re: hornet 900?
Good afternoon all.
Hornet 900's are pretty underated in my view. The engine is basically the old carburetor Fireblade motor that's been de-tuned & had fuel injection stuck on it, & we all know what a good engine that was. The chassis is pretty basic, but can be improved no end by fitting Hagon springs to the front forks. The brakes are well up to the job, & as a bonus you can fit a centre stand which make general maintenance easier. The main complaint that I hear about Hornets, be they 600 or 900, is that, the riding position relating to the handlebars is uncomfortable. It seems to be a Marmite issue, some folks dislike it & others love it. So, maybe a change of handlebars would do the trick One of my customers is on his 5th Hornet 6, all purchased from new. He commutes 25 miles daily across London, & 25 miles home again. He wouldn't have anything else for the job. All in all, they're a pretty reliable fun bike, with plenty of scope for improvement. Cheers. |

Re: hornet 900?
I borrowed a mate of mines 9 for commuting for a couple days, alright bike, no real complaints except the engine's a bit weird. It feels like it really wants to be revved, but then you rev it and it never takes off like it feels like it should. No doubt it's plenty fast enough but it could be so much better if they'd just fitted the blade engine without screwing with it.
