Sadly, irresponsible driving is an increasing phenomenon. She should have been sentenced to a stretch. Her actions were just as bad if not worse than bikers convicted of safely speeding at 122mph

I see it all the time in town, where car drivers are oblivious to the emergency service trying to get past. Like the bloke quited in the news item, I always think "I hope that's your mother in the back of that ambulance".

Now that my other half's driving himself to incidents on lights and sirens, he daily recounts tales of idiots trying to squeeze into gaps other traffic's made for him, race him round the north circular even in very poor weather conditions etc. It's endemic.

How does someone that does something like this escape prison?

I also dont read about her being banned from driving for life.

Sickening.

What a complete idiot, the mind boggles sometimes.

On another note though.............

I saw someone in a new aston martin the other day.......they would not bump up the kerb to let an ambulance by.........which left me thinking would I ?

Brand new £100k+ car with £2500 each wheels......would you bump up the kerb and potentially wreck your car, because lets face it no one it going to pay for the damage.

Same situation with red lights, if you go through a red light to let an emergency vehicle by then you will still get the 3 points and £60 fine regardless of how much you fight it.....so would you do it.

I seem to remember a thread on here a while back discussing the red light issue, with a fair number of people stating they wouldn't go through to let an ambulance past. Admittedly not in the same league as the OP but running a close second.....
