Do we have any police on the forum who can identify the specifics of this code please?

but police codes are internal and different for each force apparently. It should say something like in contravention of section XXX.YY of the Road Traffic Act or some such?

Riding down the road safely and normally on the way to Abber in Wales on Saturday, mate was a bit ahead of me, then i hear ne nar ne nar, "follow us....", catch up to my mate and we are both pulled in.

P - Police
M - Mate (Standard '06 GSXR600)
T - Me (Baffle Out, Custom Plate)

Round 1
P - How fast do you think you were going
M - 60'ish
P - No atleast 90
M - No about 60 as far as I saw

M - It's standard
P - Good, your lucky you decided to slow down which 4cked up my average speed machine, you're just getting a warning.

P - Your exhaust is fine, not happy about that plate though, why are the letters raised?
T - It's just the style of plate
P = Don't like it, you can have a ticket for that.

The letters on my plate are about 8mm shorter than they are supposed to be, I measured last night but he didn't pick up on that, and the 3D lettering is legal according to demonplates, the site I got the plate from a couple of years ago.

Was just wondering what exactly this offence code on my ticket referred to so I know where I stand on the ticket front.

Personally I would not believe anything from the site of a supplier of plates regarding the legal requirements. Check on a government website. If that confirms legality you can either dispute the case or simply pay the fine. Are you getting points for this as well?

You can't get points for having an illegal plate. In fact the fine is the same whether you're running an illegal plate or have no plate at all.. both are £30 non-endorsable (no points)
