Re: My CBT/DAS...the story so far!
LouLou - confidence will come with experience, although i'm noting like "experienced" with bikes i would say that i was massively nervous on my CBT and first couple of sessions on the 500 - my instructor was convinced i'd never see 50mph on the speedo and we were holding up traffic, although without wanting to sound my own trumpet slow speed control was generally ok... i've had my SV 4 weeks, done 600 miles, man and machine are now in harmony and all is well, seen triple figures and relaxed in the corners. it will come with time. and if you do happen to fail the test, who cares?
keep at it, bikes are inherently unstable so they're bound to end up horizontal sometimes

Re: My CBT/DAS...the story so far!
Absolutely... Nothing quite like sliding to a halt after coming off at 70mph, watching your bike go into a gravel trap, then picking it up and finding it's taken one broken lever and one damaged lever, a bent subframe, and a slightly marked fairing. I've seen bikes take worse damage falling off their sidestands. Good crash bungs are never a bad investment.
