Infinity have an interesting deal on at the moment.

I popped in looking for a chain as the D-Lock I have at the moment is a bit big and bulky, and only really functions as a wheel-lock as its too small to go through the wheel AND round anything useful (though would work great with a ground anchor.

The deal they have at the moment is, if you buy an Oxford Boss Alarm Disk lock (with a built in 100db alarm on a tilt/vibration sensor) for £60 they will GIVE you a 1.5m Oxford chain worth £80

So guess what I now have

Soulkiss, be aware that the disklock alarm stops working after if gets wet too many times (but still works fine as a lock), and the Oxford chain is a little too easy to get through for most people to use as their only defence.

I agree, the disk lock is pretty good (although disk locks are actually pretty rubbish - I use my Boss as a way to lock the chain to the frame)

The Oxford chain is apparently pretty weak - I have one and use it in such a way as it is nowhere near the ground so hopefully it would still be pretty difficult to break.

It does? Can you define how many times that is? My disklock alarm has been outside for over a year now and it still works perfectly well.

I tend to use an Almax chain though.

Kate, maybe I was just unlucky... When was the last time you tried the alarm?

Mind doesn't work when its really cold (cold affects the batteries) but I've never had any problems with wetness etc. I did change the batteries after a year just to be on the safe side.

Me too have had the Boss alarm lock for a year - parked outside through all weathers still going strong!

Now that you mention it, whenever it was wet it was also cold, and I didn't pay any attention when it was just cold without being wet... And when it was warm and wet, well, I wasn't paying any attention to the bike.
