I used to be a republican before RR then I realised that our voters could do just the same given the opportunity to elect our head of state.

I have a few issues with Trump.

He lies: https://www.politifact.com/personali...yruling/false/

You may say all politicians lie, but he lies continuously and denies it when caught.

He says he's a successful businessman, but he is not: http://gawker.com/a-complete-list-of...ers-1764151188 or http://uk.businessinsider.com/donald...cesses-2016-10

He proclaims to be a self made man yet to start his first business he got a "small" loan from his father (he keeps changing the story but it's anywhere from $3m to $14m).

He has reneged on the Iran agreement despite the inspectors saying Iran was complying, not only that he is punishing any country that continues to deal with Iran. (which has pushed up the oil price)

He refuses to fill the missing seat on the WTO making it useless (they can't vote). He claims the WTO is against the US and yet the US has won 90% of the cases it took before them: https://www.factcheck.org/2017/10/tr...ng-wto-record/

Against all advice he moved the US Embassy in Israel (causing riots in Gaza and many deaths) and since the Palestinians won't now negotiate, he cut their aid.

He wants to disband NATO which was set up by (and for) the US as a buffer against the Soviet Union so war would be fought in Europe not the USA.

He likes dictators, pick one: Putin, Kim Jong Un, Erdogan. Collusion with Russia? The showing of his tax returns promise - still waiting.

There's much more...his view of women, his constant name calling of opponents, his rambling, inchorent speeches. He is an awful person who doesn't deserve any respect. The only good thing about him he is not as bad as Pence would be.

slander: the action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person's reputation.

...only they are not false statements. You could accuse them of hanging onto his every word looking for a slip up, but they don't usually have to wait for long.

He is a destabilising factor, it takes a lot to rile Canadians (they say sorry more than we do) but Trump's succeeded with the whole NAFTA thing:
https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/ca...165038690.html.

He puts tariffs on EU metal products (threatens others) and then says we should help him against China. Meanwhile US steel is about to go on strike because the workers haven't had a pay rise in years whilst their bosses have. So much for tarifffs helping the US steel industry. Takes the US out of the Paris agreement and says global warming is a myth, claims the US needs coal, gets the EPA to relax regulations on everything from disposal of coal slurry, to methane release at wellheads, to mining in public parks. Guts Obamacare and replaces it with...still waiting. Gives tax breaks to corporations and now complains that the deficit is too high and he may need to cut social security (pensions) and medicare.

I'm ranting...sorry. No more Trump from me in "smile of the day"... (gets down off soapbox).
