Default suspension when 2 up

will be doing some 2 up riding now the better weather comes and just a few general questions on suspension

i got a haynes, and have seen how easy it is to do

however, what sort of setting am i looking for on the rear shock 2up? and what do people find best when just 1up?

and do the forks need any adjustment?

cheers,
Drapier

Well I find on my own, the rear preload is best set to position number 5 (one notch up from standard; bare in mine I gotta counteract a topbox alot fo the time). With maria on the back, I put it up to 6. It makes a marginal differance, and I only do it because I know theoretically its probably a good idea...

Don't know about front preload, as I dont have that adjustment

On my curvy I would have rear pre-load up on max with a pillion. Went out (on viffer) yesterday without adjusting rear pre-load and was reminded how not adjusting the rear pre-load is a bad idea - nothing major, just the bike ran wide and the rear tended to squat and wallow in bends.

Also up the pressure a bit in the rear tyre.

I also put the preload upto max what Mrs Pmapp is out with us.

If at first you don't succeed - use more gaffa tape.
