Potential for a Mrs.Merton type "heated debate" with this I think. Let's sit back and see.

Indeed, that is why I have put the link up and only a brief explanation, I think its worth while and have done it , I don’t really care if others do or don’t do it.

I've sign'd up as I think I should,
but... he says...
Queen and Country is a collaboration with the relatives of those who have lost their lives in the Iraq war. It is neither pro-war nor anti-war. By signing our petition, you are expressing your support for Steve McQueen's vision to produce an official set of postage stamps commemorating the British servicemen and women killed during the conflict in Iraq.

I was just wondering if this is some artist just trying to make a name for them selfs as I think the milatary bosses might have something to say about it and put a spanner in the works...
Also Iraq is not the only place of conflict that the British army is in at the moment, I'm sure if the Post Office went ahead with this then there would be a huge public outcry as they mention nothing about any other conflict.

In my own view it would be better to do a set of stamps for All fallen service personel across all the services in all the recent Conflicts.

There is no way they would do it, there are too many other fallen soldiers, from WW1 and WW2 for a start, who deserve just as much remembrance, it would just be unacheivable without mass argueing. Also, why not have pictures of other dead heroes, people who saved others but gave their lives. Soldiers from Iraq signed up to the army so knew to a certian extent that they might get killed. Besides, on a personal level, I think it is really creepy. Anyway, I think it's an odd idea at best, but that shouldn't detract from our support for the poor guys that have to go out and do the politicians dirty work.
