Default tank raisers

Some time over christmas hols I will be fitting a micron system, desnorkelling the air filter and rejetting.

Will raising the tank require different jets?

(Will probably just make some spacers similar to the chewys ones)

I've been looking at chewys and saw them. But what is this de-snorkelling malarky?

The curvy air filter has a trumpet thing to decrease induction noise, a side effect of this is that its quite restrictive.
A dremel can be used to remove this, from what I've read it flows quite well like this, almost as well as a decent performance filter.

Theres a similar mod for the pointy which involves taking the top of the aribox off.
Offers a power gain apparently.

However I don't own a pointy so not really in a position to comment properly

I've got a spare pair of chewy's spacers somewhere... Probably have 2 soon, I'm going to make a new set out of acetal I reckon. It'll flow a wee bit better, not massively though, it's one of those things that's worth doing because it's practically free.

Removed the airbox snorkel on my pointy couple of months ago. Bike gets used daily, no ill-effects.No idea or care if it gives a performance gain on its own. Makes a REAL racket tho'. Drowns out my race pipe when you give it big yeehaz on the gas.

Search "snorkel"

So not enough difference to need different jetting?
I'm after induction noise more than anything really

Well... Dunno really I don't think in my case it was enough of a difference to bump me up a jet by itself, but it's all cumulative. When I was running lean, taking them out helped reduce the hesitation, but it wasn't huge.
