Bullet Camera Help.

Hey all, i'd like to have a go at fitting a bullet cam to my bike however i'm not really sure what bits of kit I need or where to start really.
Ideally id like two camera's so I can get multiple views of whats going on. Say for instance one inside the front fairing facin forward past the front wheel and one on the swingarm or something like that. I also need audio too. Probably mount that inside the rear fairing up by the exhaust.
I have a Video Camera already. Its one of the mini DVD recorder ones. A Canon DC10. Is it just a case of just sticking this under my seat and buying a couple of bullet cams and a mic' to plug into it?
Looking around ive seen all different ways of doing it but i'm not really up on modern computer jargon.
Any help with this would be cool.

I was looking at the 46kam dual switcher action ready package at £269.

it's been covered quite a lot lately, but that's the ATC 1000, It's all in one records to an SD card and runs on a couple of AA bateries.

I have the ATC 2000 which is better res and a more robust built unit ATC 2000.

Not a profesionnal setup by any means, and night recording is a little disappointing, but daytime stuff is ok, built in sound is good, for the price it's good value and should do the job, on 2GB card you'll get just over an hour recording at 640 x 480, 30fps (has three modes and timelaps and two frame rates), and a decent pair of rechargeable AA's will do about 4 hour's worth or so, fully waterproof to 3m as well so shouldn't leak at all and as said should even stand up to the odd minor spill or two.

The kit comes with loads of different mounts and straps and things as well which is nice, if you are after something that gives a good overall recording of say a track day it'd be more than good enough, however if you need something with great detail you'd perhaps be a little disappointed.

I've uploaded a few runs taken with this to google video, but as they limit the res to about 320 x 240 so about half the res of the original, but it'll give you an idea( original isn't pixalated at all)

If you have a BMC race air filter fitted I recommend putting the microphone under the tank, the induction roar is a fantastic sound on my curvy!!!

Yeah that looks cool mate. Good quality still even though the res has been reduced. Is the mic built into it or does it have a seperate one and is it good quality? Couldnt hear it really over the very 80's soundtrack.
And when it went quiet there seemed like more wind noise than anything.

the mic is built in and pretty good for local sound(exhaust /engine), it was turned down for the clips I overdub with music.

I just bin the soundtracks with my ATC2K, I get nothing but treble and wind noise, the bike sounds like a tin bee But the video quality is alright. You can't mount it near the engine though, or you get horrible interference- or at least, you do on SVs and Ninjas.

Thats the problem northy, my bike sounds awesome and I want the sound as a part of it all. The price seems alright and the vid quality seems great but I need the sound to go with it.

On way of getting good audio would be use something like an old mini disk player/recorder and you would record the sounds on seperate device, to the video.

When you come to edit, you have to a split edit layer the audio in which isn't that hard to. You just import the sound and the sync it up to the video. If you want to know a bit more about I could have think or try to find out a bit more.....It really depemds on how you want to do it.

Something like premier, or avid express should do it, there are probally cheper versions out there but I haven't used them, I have only used the the pro editing systems.

Mini disk is compressed, I belive it is a 5:1 compression ratio, I'm not sure what mp3, I think it depends on the bit rate, but can be very higly compressed.

But that way you quaility audio and video. As for mini cams again, they loads of cameras and system out there. There are companies that make, set up rig mini cam systems may be worth speaking to them? If you want I can find their numbers.

I think what I have said is right! But it has been sometime since I last edited more knowledge on that side is a little old!
