Hmmm, i'm sure that whenever i hook mine up there is 2 lights. One to show its charging and one shoing the condition of the battery.

Have you checked the connections to the battery? Perhaps one is loose and thats why you only get one light?

But thats about the extent of my electrical knowledge so hopefully someone who knows more will be along soo to advise more.

Two lights.

An ON light (Green) and a secondary light to let you know what the battery is optimate is doing/condition of your battery.

At the least you should have one green light.

Even if the battery was completely goosed you would have a second light indicating the state of the battery. If you have no light at all, I would suggest the charger is not working correctly. This is assuming that all connections have been checked.

My optimate has been on for a few months now, and is only displaying the green light. If the battery is disconnected and reconnected the second LED lights up until the charger goes through the cycle, then it goes back to just the green LED.

Basically, when the green LED is lit on its own, it is in monitoring mode.

While on the subject of Optimate, I have the chance to organise a group buy for Optimate III SP's at a decent price. Anyone interested keep an eye out. I'll run it past the admin's before posting it in the for sale section.

Maybe my Optimate is a different version then as when my battery is fully charged I have two green lights.

I don't have an optimate brand but on my charger there is an in line fuse on the leads between my connector you plug into and where it screws to the terminals. If that blows I only get the one light.
