yes on both bikes.

The datatool on my SV I find a right PIA, whereas the meta on the GSXR is a much better alarm IMHO.

I have a Spyball something on mine. Pain in the ass, drains the battery and the other day when I accidently set it off at the petrol station it took me 20 seconds or so to realise that it was coming from my bike it was so quiet. Rubbish!

Datatool on 1st SV. Meta on this one. We think the opposite to Fizz

Horses for courses

Didn't choose to have either of them fitted, they came with the bikes.

Pricing one up at the moment. Got a quote today from Elsec, York Rd in Leeds. For a datatool / meta £300 inc vat.

I could pay someone to watch it for that

If anyone can recommend anywhere I'd be obliged.

As Lissa says - horses for courses. I have a Spyball on my ZX6, been fine for ten years, loud, no problems, even has the original battery in the fob.
The Datatool on the SV1000 is way more fussy to use, but has been completely reliable for the four-and-a-bit years it's been on there.

I'd agree I find the datatool on my SV fussy to use, the datatool on Liz's Duke is just the same. I just dont get on with datatools I guess, I dont know why it just drives me nuts

Its been reliable, only time I've had trouble with it was when water got into the keyfob and it stopped working, I keep my keyfob inside my jacket now so that it stays dry*

*Mr Squids idea not mine.

Had one, it was fine; then one day it decided to engage the immobilizer as I was riding down the road. That sucked.

It's gone now. I'm happy.

What good are they really? They don't deter thieves. A mate had his bike stolen from outside his apartment, the alarm getting quieter as the bike goes away in the back of a van. By the time he got downstairs, it was gone -- there wasn't anywhere to lock it to the ground.
