Default Help - I have Furry Nuts!

Yes I do, I'm not lying.

How do I get them back to being normal nuts?

(PS These are on my bike, not on my person)

screw the furry nut onto a bolt or threaded stud.

Grip the stud / bolt in the chuck of an electric drill.

Dip the furrry nit in autosol.

Push it into a cloth / sponge.

Press button on drill

Watch in amazement as furry nut turns from ming to bling in 5 seconds flat.

Autosol is a bit vicious and will polish off the zinc plating, so the nut will be plain polished steel that rusts faster. Use T-Cut and go easy, you're trying to polish the plating, not remove it.

That's almost exactly what i've just done ... bike been left out (without the cover - I'm a lazy ar$ed git, what can I say) in all weathers recently, and so a lot of the nuts have rusted (or look past their best anyway).

So I ordered one of chewys stainless bolt kits which arrived this morning.
This weekend, I'll begin the task of replacing the bolts. Although can't help thinking it's gonna be like giving a pig a diamond collar oh well
Perhaps if I clean the bike thoroughly as well it might help
