Anyone know if you can remove a hard disk partition and make your hard disk one single primary drive without having to delete and re-install windows?
My PC is ancient (P2 450) and I am now running windows XP. Deleted my D:\ partition which was 6Gb. Now I want to expand my primary C:\ partition to use this 6 Gb. I know I could buy a new box for c?350 but dont have the cash at present. Any advice appreciated. Cheers |

You can do it, but it's not for the faint of heart, especially if you have valuable data in there (which you're supposed to have on a backup somewhere, right?
![]() There are some bootable CDs out there that will allow you to run utilities to repartition / eliminate partitions on HDs, someone should be around soon to point you in the right direction, the only thing I can think of right now is using an Ubuntu (or another Linux distro) Live CD and doing it from there. Sorry if that wasn't very helpful, but I thought I'd let you know there is a light at the end of the tunnel. |

indeed partition magic is very good, and allows you to make the changes, then it'll reboot the pc to activate them during boot.
I've got version 8, and never had a problem with it, but of course you will have done your backup first. Cheers Mark.
