Default garage debate of the day

Willy waving and burning bra's..................

The bike world is male orientated, blokes are continually showing their testosterone to the birds by buying big bikes, blinging them up, big boring them etc. They are always in competition with other blokes to show how manly they are, so they put a huge zorst on it, front forks bigger, jack it up, etc.
Girls get emotionally attached to their two wheels.......its a mechanical object my manly friend shouts. Ah but we do tastleful mods, and don't see it as a competition, we congratulate each other on our polishing skills, our not falling off...we might even give it some fluffy dice.

Ever noticed blokes do it with cars>?? yes there goes Mr testosterone with his Porsche, the one with the roof down in the rain....ooooooo laydeeez look how cool I am.......but if the girls get a car like that....ooo 'hairdresser mobeel'.
Does anyone have a pyshchological explanation to why the sexes act like this with the show of vehicles

My view of today was that blokes need to show they are the alpha male, so display these charactoristics...you know like birds do with feathers

My pet mechanic said......get in the sink and do the woman thing and make brews

So over to you lot to debate further

You've not seen the pile of **** 1995 Nissan Micra 1.0 litre I've got, have you? If all men buy big cars as a size related penis substitute I must be naturally hung like a donkey. I can afford a much nicer car, but I'd rather spend my money on bikes because I'd only run a decent car into the scrapyard in pretty short order.

We've been debating this from a purely tongue in chhek view.....me and Mel attempted to gang up on YC, with thses sort of general points.......
.....however I am predicting that MissYC will have a fully functional house one day.....as YC is permanently covered in garage muck...she'll never have a car/bike that breaks down for long, or drippy taps........just don't expect to him to put on fluffy slippers and do the ironing MissYC

He's got potential

As for why men insist on better vehicles and such, tis all about sexual selection Male birds must have more complex songs and more attractive displays and whatnot. As expectations from females get higher and higher, males must evolve characteristics which make them stand out even more from the crowd.

Looking at humans, having a posher car is a man's way of saying, 'ooh look at me, available and with high financial status, I can provide for your offspring' However they may just like posh cars And tbh I wouldn't look twice at a chap with a posh car, now a landy, that's completely different (and a bike's even better, have no fear YC )
